Travel+Leisure article on Muxes in Mexico"Stepping Out", an article for the November, 2005 issue of Travel+Leisure describes the Muxe festival in Tehuantepec, Mexico, where the Zapotec families consider it a blessing for each household to include one gay son. Driven by my interest in Folklore and Mythology all over the world, I attended this festival last November to observe this local custom. A good time was had by all.
